Common questions
What is the Bitcoin funding rate right now?
Bitcoin perpetual funding is +0.0100% per 8 hours at the median of 5 exchanges (+10.95% a year) as of 15:32 UTC: highest on Kraken at +0.0018%/1h, lowest on KuCoin at +0.0100%/8h.
Which exchange has the highest Bitcoin funding rate?
Kraken, at +0.0018%/1h (+16.02% a year). The lowest is KuCoin at +0.0100%/8h. Each exchange re-estimates its rate until settlement, so the order changes.
How often is Bitcoin funding paid?
It depends on the contract: every 8 hours on Binance, OKX, Bybit, and KuCoin; continuously on Kraken, shown per hour. The per-year column puts every contract on the same basis.
Does positive Bitcoin funding mean the price will rise?
No. A positive rate means longs pay shorts at the next settlement. It says which side pays, not where the price goes, and it can change sign at any settlement.
Sources and method
Rates are each exchange's current estimate for its next settlement, read from its public API about once a minute. The yearly figure is the rate per settlement times the settlements in a year, without compounding; the 8-hour figure divides it by the 8-hour periods in a year. History uses the settlements this site has recorded since August 26, 2026, averaged over whole UTC days.
